Tracey Whiting, Chair

Tracey Whiting is a business leader and marketing executive specialising in media news publishing, public programs and major events. In 2014 Tracey was appointed Chair of AGSA. With expertise in strategic marketing, audience engagement and growth of large-scale exhibitions, the strategic focus under her Chairmanship has been to position AGSA as a dynamic part of a broad and diverse community, in the firm belief that art can enhance people’s lives and enrich communities. Prior to her appointment, Tracey was a founding committee member of AGSA’s Contemporary Collectors, created to raise the profile and funding for contemporary art. Tracey is also a current Non-Executive Director of Solstice Media and her past non-executive directorships include Foodbank and the South Australian Museum.

Jacqui McGill

Jacqui McGill is a highly accomplished Executive and Non-Executive Director with more than 30 years’ executive leadership experience. Jacqui is the Chairman of TAFE SA, a member of the Economic Advisory Committee for SA and leadership consultant. Jacqui held a range of key leadership roles with BHP including Asset President of Olympic Dam and BHP Mitsui Coal. Jacqui has deep operational experience in large scale, complex, capital intensive organisations and well-developed capital portfolio execution experience in capital constrained, and risk laden environment. Jacqui joined the AGSA board in 2017.

Adrian Tisato

Adrian Tisato is the Principal of GT Legal, a legal practice he founded in 2011. With 20 years’ experience in complex commercial litigation and a decade spent leading a team of lawyers in a busy and diverse commercial legal practice, Adrian now exclusively acts as external general counsel to a select group of corporations, industry associations and not-for-profit organisations. Adrian joined the AGSA board as a Non-Executive Director in 2016 and holds Non-Executive Directorships for the South Australian Film Corporation and ARC Engines Australia. Adrian previously held non-executive directorships for the Motor Accident Commission, Independent Gambling Authority, Adelaide Fringe and Chairmanship of Oscar-short-listed animation studio, The People’s Republic of Animation.

Joshua Fanning

Josh Fanning worked at the ABC until he heard the news editor compliment an outgoing journalist for, ‘making news when there was no news’. Opting out of the hourly deadlines of the news business, Josh founded his first lifestyle magazine – Merge – in 2007 at the age of 23. More than a decade later, he’s recently sold his third print title, CityMag to Solstice Media and continues on as publisher and editor-in-chief. Josh has a keen interest in marketing, design and the visual arts, and ran his own commercial gallery for emerging artists in Adelaide between 2010 and 2015 and helped Leigh Street build its first small bar, Udaberri. Josh joined the AGSA board as a Non-Executive Director in 2016, he was a founding board member of the Committee for Adelaide, and his company Masthead Studio's work for Windmill Theatre's interactive digital platform resulted in them winning an Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) Award in 2018.

Susan Armitage

Susan Armitage has been a Non-Executive Director of AGSA since 2015. Susan has extensive experience in finance, investments and philanthropy. She held senior executive positions at Macquarie Group from 2007 to 2016 and Goldman Sachs JB Were from 1997 to 2007. Susan has a keen interest in philanthropy and currently sits on the Foundation Board for the National Gallery of Australia and the Commissioners Council for the Venice Biennial - Australia Council for the Arts, roles she has held since 2012 and 2013 respectively.

John Phillips

John Phillips is a retired stockbroker with over 40 years’ experience. John was elected a member of the Adelaide Stock Exchange in 1979 and has been a member of the Australian Stock Exchange since its inception. He has been aligned with the Art Gallery of South Australia since 2009, firstly as a member of the Foundation Council and as a Board Member since 2014. John is currently Chair of the AGSA Board Funds Management Committee.

Jane Yuile

Jane Yuile is a finance executive with over 35 years’ experience in finance, business strategy and growth, company acquisitions and divestments. Jane has highly developed business and government networks and is a sought-after speaker on leadership, economics and women’s networking. Jane joined the AGSA board in 2014 is also an Executive Director of ANZ and a Non-Executive Director of Adelaide Airport. Originally from Montreal, Canada, Jane has lived in Australia since 1982 and in Adelaide since 2000, where she has developed a deep commitment to the State. Previously Jane has held several non-executive directorships for companies in industries including the arts, environment, technology, utilities, healthcare and education.
