WALL LABEL: Hans Heysen: The Creative Journey, 1992
This copy of Heysen would have been made from one of the many books available at that time on J.M.W. Turner. It is based on one of Turner’s unpublished landscape etchings for his Liber Studiorum. Heysen was attracted to Turner’s balanced compositions and dignified outlook on nature.
