Join us on the opening weekend of the Ramsay Art Prize 2019 for a participatory performance of 'Viewer as patient' with finalist Sophia Hewson.

In her performance piece 'Viewer as patient', artist and psychoanalysis student Sophia Hewson examines the relationship between the "viewer" (in this case the patient undergoing therapy), the "artist" (the therapist) and the "work of art" (the therapy session).

The painting 'Family portrait' hangs between the chairs as a lone witness to the sessions. The performance creates a space in which a complex and intimate socio-political Australian landscape emerges.

Bookings essential as places are limited. Book in person on the day at the Information Desk in the Atrium.

Please note that you will be asked to sign a waiver by the artist and be aware that the session space is open to the public.
