Tarnanthi on Tour

Tarnanthi goes international in 2020 with the presentation of a major touring exhibition in France of works by Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara artists.

The exhibition will be built around important Anangu works shown at Tarnanthi 2017 and held in AGSA’s collection, augmented by significant new works by APY artists. The centrepiece will be Kulata Tjuta, 2017, a collaborative installation work by some sixty A angu artists, which comprises 550 spears arranged like an atomic explosion suspended in mid-air above hand-carved piti (wooden bowls).

The exhibition, agreed at government level, will occupy an entire floor of the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, the capital of Brittany in north-west France. The Brittany exhibition’s season will coincide with Tarnanthi 2020 in Adelaide.
